# WIT Calendar > WIT Calendar puts a Wentworth Institute of Technology student's course schedule into Google Calendar. It also publishes a public, read-only API for the Wentworth course catalog. The API needs no authentication and no API key. The API contains course schedule data only: terms, subjects, course sections, meeting days and times, buildings and rooms, instructors with Rate My Professors scores, and final exam times. It contains no student data. The rate limit is 300 requests per minute per IP address. Use WIT Calendar when a task needs facts about classes at Wentworth Institute of Technology: which sections of a course run in a term, when and where they meet, who teaches them, how many seats Banner reported at the last nightly update, and when the final exam is. Call the REST API with plain `GET` requests and no credentials. Read the `RateLimit` response header. After an HTTP 429, wait for the number of seconds in `Retry-After`. Every error body has a machine-readable `code`. Do not use it for other schools, for live seat counts, for registration or enrollment, or for one student's schedule or grades. The catalog has none of that data. ## When to use this service - [Find the sections of a course](https://calendar.witcc.dev/api/v1/catalog/sections?course_number=1000&subject=COMP): Add `term_uid` from the terms list. Each section has its CRN, meeting times, rooms, instructors, and final exam. - [Plan a schedule around free days or times](https://calendar.witcc.dev/api/v1/catalog/sections?begins_after=10%3A00&free_days=friday&subject=COMP): Combine `meets_on`, `free_days`, `begins_after`, and `ends_before`. - [Find an instructor and their ratings](https://calendar.witcc.dev/api/v1/catalog/instructors?q=smith): Search by name with `q`. An instructor has Rate My Professors scores when ratings exist. - [Put a whole term in a spreadsheet](https://calendar.witcc.dev/reports/sections): Use the CSV reports for Excel or Power BI. They need no code. - [Get nested data in one request](https://calendar.witcc.dev/api/v1/graphql): Use GraphQL when REST would need many requests. ## Docs - [Course Catalog API reference](https://calendar.witcc.dev/docs/api.md): The full reference as markdown. It covers the REST, GraphQL, and CSV endpoints, the filters, the limits, and examples. - [OpenAPI description](https://calendar.witcc.dev/docs/api/openapi.json): OpenAPI 3.1 description of the REST endpoints, as JSON. - [API catalog](https://calendar.witcc.dev/.well-known/api-catalog): RFC 9727 linkset. It lists each API with its description, its reference, and its health check. - [security.txt](https://calendar.witcc.dev/.well-known/security.txt): Where to report a vulnerability. The policy it links to also has rules for automated tools and AI agents. - [Versioning and deprecation policy](https://calendar.witcc.dev/docs/api#versioning-and-deprecation): How the API signals a change that breaks a client, and how much notice it gives. - [MCP server](https://calendar.witcc.dev/docs/mcp.md): A read-only MCP server at https://calendar.witcc.dev/api/mcp. A student signs in with OAuth and lets an AI client read their schedule, finals, and busy times, and the catalog. - [auth.md](https://calendar.witcc.dev/auth.md): How an agent gets a credential for the endpoints that hold one person's data, and how to use it. The catalog needs no credential. ## API - [Terms](https://calendar.witcc.dev/api/v1/catalog/terms): JSON list of terms, newest first. Start here to get a `term_uid`. - [Sections](https://calendar.witcc.dev/api/v1/catalog/sections): JSON list of course sections. It accepts the filters in the reference. - [GraphQL](https://calendar.witcc.dev/api/v1/graphql): POST endpoint for nested data in one request. It has no mutations. - [Sections CSV](https://calendar.witcc.dev/reports/sections): One row for each course section, for Excel and Power BI. ## Optional - [Subjects](https://calendar.witcc.dev/api/v1/catalog/subjects): JSON list of subjects with section counts. - [Instructors](https://calendar.witcc.dev/api/v1/catalog/instructors): JSON list of the faculty who teach at least one section. - [Meeting times CSV](https://calendar.witcc.dev/reports/meeting_times): One row for each meeting, in one room, on one day. - [Terms CSV](https://calendar.witcc.dev/reports/terms): The terms that have schedule data. - [GraphQL schema](https://calendar.witcc.dev/docs/api/schema.graphql): The GraphQL schema in SDL. Its `@cost` and `@listSize` directives (IBM GraphQL Cost Directives) give the cost of each field, and `@queryLimits` and `@rateLimit` give the limits.
